The City of Hays has experienced a storm event causing high waters, downed power lines, debris and hazards in the roadways, as well as power outages. Dispatch is working to keep up with the calls and first responders are out notifying residents of high waters. I-70 is closed west bound from the 159 (Vine Street) Exit and closed east bound from Wakeeney. We ask that residents do not get out and drive unless it is an absolute emergency. Midwest Energy crews are out working to restore power.
