SUBJECT: Death Investigation
At 5:36 a.m. this morning, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Mission Mount for a female gunshot victim call. The female died at the scene. Officers are investigating the incident and the Kansas Bureau of Investigations Crime Scene Unit has been called in to assist. Officers will be working in the area. The scene is secure, and the neighborhood is safe.
However, we are asking the general public to avoid the area to allow the officers to work. Names are not being released as this is an ongoing investigation. No further information will be released at this time.
