[ARCHIVED] Arrest Made in Case Involving Sexual Assault of Juvenile at Massey Park

On December 16th the Hays Police Department received a report that a juvenile female had been sexually assaulted near Massey Park, 17th and Allen. The assault reportedly occurred at around 6:15 p.m. that day. The victim reported that she met a man on social media and agreed to meet him at the park. At the park the man reportedly physically restrained the victim and then sexually assaulted her. The suspect then fled the park. The victim ran from the scene with another female and then called the police.

On Friday, December 20, 2019 a search warrant was served by the Hays Police Department, Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, the Kansa Bureau of Investigations, and the Victoria Police department at a home in Victoria. At that time the Hays Police Department arrested 31-year-old Cody W. Schultz of Victoria for Aggravated Criminal Sodomy and Electronic Solicitation. Schultz is currently being held in the Ellis County Jail and is considered innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
