The City of Hays will potentially construct a new fire station at 1732 West 41st Street. The total project cost is estimated to be $5.5 M. The project will be funded by the 1/4-cent county sales tax that was approved by voters in 2020 for emergency services. This project will not diminish the amount of funding that the City currently spends on street maintenance, water/sewer line upgrades, park improvements, or any other capital expense.
