If you wish, you may come to the police department and report the crime, if it occurred within the city limits of Hays, KS. If the crime occurred outside the city limits but still inside Ellis County, KS, please go to the Ellis County Sheriff's Office.

If the ticket is from the Hays Police Department, you need to go to the Hays Municipal Court located at 105 West 12th Street, or call (785) 625-1070. If it is a Kansas Highway Patrol or Ellis County Sheriff's Office ticket, you need to go to the Ellis County District Court located at 107 West 12th street, or call (785) 628-9415.
To schedule a ride along with an officer, please contact the on-duty Lieutenant at (785) 625-1030 during business hours. (Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.)
You may contact the local Division of Motor Vehicles. The Hays Police Department does not provide driver's license checks.
