Facilities

This park is in honor of all military veterans and the sacrifices made by them and their families for our freedom.  The park contains a military tank and the Kansas 40&8 Boxcar.  These boxcars carried up to 40 men or 8 horses to and from France battlefields during WWI.  Each state received a boxcar from France, as gratitude for the United States’ contributions and sacrifices in WWI and WWII.  Hays is honored to have the Boxcar that was given to the State of Kansas in 1949.
