The City of Hays Water Resources Department is accepting proposals for 2022 Manhole Rehabilitation project. The proposal should clearly demonstrate how the firm can best satisfy the requirements of the City of Hays. The construction materials vary, but are generally brick and mortar, precast concrete, and cast-in-place concrete. The condition of the manholes varies but are typically in low pH environments. Depths range from a few feet to greater than 20 feet. This project includes 50manholes at approximately 515 vertical feet. Manholes may be experiencing some or all of the following issues: Loss of bricks and mortar Hydrogen sulfide corrosion and subsequent concrete reactions Damage from freeze/thaw cycles Inflow and infiltration Erosion Ground settlement or shifting Sealed bids will be opened at 3:00 p.m. on March 1, 2022.
